Hey guys ... still new to milling here. I have a Logosol M7 ... which is working out great, but has some limitations = you can only put 1000#s on it.

I have a few logs i think are definitely over that, and figured a Granberg mini may be the way to go ... split 'em down the middle and then do the halves on M7.

Yes - I am aware the M7 can be inverted, but not interested in this ... I have a heavy duty base I built for the M7 so I can easily move it around on my tractor forks.

Plus ... getting the mini would give me a reason to get a honking-long bar for the 660 :greenchainsaw:

Thoughts?

I used a mini at a GTG once and was pleased on it's simplicity of setup and use. It does a very good also. I was surprised by it. I have since bought one myself.

I do this same thing for a guy that has a Wood Mizer band mill, I have to split the big-uns down the middle for him in order for him to be able to mill it. Works good:cheers:

Its hard to find a good guide board that is perfectly flat and straight for a mini mill. In a smaller cut like 6-12" its not as noticable, but if your planning on making large cuts with a mini mill you will need a perfectly flat and straight guide board... Good luck ;). I'm on my 2nd board in less then 6 months and its a bit warped already..
