Hey guys,

I have never used green teeth before, just the conventional vermeer teeth. I am looking into swapping over to greenteeth. On Baileys website, it says there are two styles of teeth, conventional and fast cutting for clean conditions. I was wondering what other people use/recommend. I usually poke around the stump with a small pick axe looking for rocks before I start.

Thanks

I would recommend using the 900 series Green Teeth. Green Teeth makes two versions of carbide. The red version is a harder carbide and the green version is a softer carbide. I've always recommended the red version as they last longer. They key when using Green Teeth is keeping them sharp. When using dull teeth they have a tendency to beat the cutter wheel bearings out. They're very user friendly when in the field if you need to turn them for a new cutting edge. They can also be resharpened for multiple uses.

Hope this helps!

I've have customers who have put 1100 series on 25hp grinders. They would only use them as main cutters. The 1100 series are the size of a quarter. The 900 series are the size of a nickel and the 700 series are the size of a dime. I think the 700 series is too small and you might use more than 1 of the 3 sides. I think you would only be able to use the tooth twice. You can use a less aggressive tooth for the clean outs as they only remove shavings. Let's see what others think as I have more experience with the 900's and 1100's.

Greenteeth

I have 700 series (green) on my 1635 Super Jr. Which is what is reccomended. I guess I could use the 900's but the 700 cutting service is still larger that the OEM superteeth. I have been really pleased with them. Very user friendly in the field when roating or swapping them out.

You are absolutley right.People make the mistake of using bigger teeth than they should.Greenteeth have done their homework on what they suggest to use with regard to horsepower.

I am using 900 series reds on my 38hp bandit, when i had a vermeer sc252 27 hp i
switched over to yellow jackets, loved them, held their edge well and easy to turn
and change, my exp with 700 series reds is u do not get 3 uses out of them, only
was able to turn once not twice, looks like i will get 3 uses out of the larger 900
series tho, ur machine with 30 hp should be able to handle the 900 series reds..

One thing about the greenteeth, they really throw the chips, but they cut good...

I did not see any cutting change between greenteeth and yellow jackets, i think
the yellow jackets would be a good choice for u..

Hope this helps..

I've got 1100 teeth on my 8018 and tow behind. I only use two sides on the outer row of teeth. The third side will work on an inner row. They are pretty tough. I grind in some rocky areas and they do take a fair beating.
