I have a 13 hp bluebird portable grinder and im changing to greenteeth what id like to know is should i run the standard or deep dish????? what patterns for 8 teeth work the best on the low hp machines. ive been running the factory pattern for 3 years on it and it is : L= left R=right

factory pattern: LL / LR / RR / LR

Do some searching on site about Greenteeth, think you will find some lovers and haters of them, Most folks that I know have tried them and gone back to something else, especially those with smaller machines. They are much heavier than anything else and your 13hp machine might not like turning the extra weight. Good luck.

thanks for that , around here we have alot of sand and very few rocks...as i have been told by other tree companys in my area green teeth are the way to go. i also understand that the deep dish ones are better for low hp machines. im gonna be swaping the 13 hp to a 18 honda so keep that in mind.

I blew apart the bearings, pulleys and belt on a 13 hp Blueturd grinder after switching to Greenteeth. The extra cutting surface is great in the cut but too much for the little bearings. I assume you are putting an 18 horse engine on the Blueturd frame. In that case, the extra horsepower should only make it worse.

You need to check out the Large Equipment forum on this site-lots of good info on this subject.
