Still need help .. just had the local rep. today filling me in on all the good details on this unit but nobody in this area has one running yet....to new of a unit I guess.... but they are saying they are a very good unit . They are made in Bellevue. Wa , the company web is greenwoodfurnace.com..I can have this furnace up and running for the same price as a cb which is not nearly as efficient .. any help ??????

What is greenwoods clam to be better than the others? are all owb similar?Gather all the info you can before purchase, that's what i did before i bought my indoor wood furnace( FIRECHIEF ) I decide on the firechief because of the thickness of steel and it's welds...the warranty...the time the company has been up and running...reputation...and a dealer in my area will service it if need be. study study study...read read read...Dan:greenchainsaw:

Still up in the air..Looked at heatmore yesterday and then looked at the greenwood again , Have found out on the web all outdoor wood furnace's have to be epa approved by 2010 ,, this is why central boiler has now brought out their e-classic series ( which is suppose to be epa approved )..The rep for the e-classic has told me they are real tempermental to use dry wood only ?? Now the greenwood people ( which are already epa approved )are not to helpful on the knowledge because it is such a new unit , but they say it will burn anything... and the green wood is a gasification unit.I really am leaning toward this unit if I could only find more info. from people that are using these.Heatmore has raised their prices by $ 1000.00 per unit starting Sept.15 - 2008 , because of the strong demand.( what a crock )..

Most hiE boilers are like this because the water in the wood reduces the efficiency of the burn. Garn is the same way, they recommend around a 20% moisture, I recall someone saying around 15% is better. Which takes a lot of the desirability out of it because now you have to split to stove size and store your "to burn" wood indoors.

I've known several hiE users to put the outdoor boilers indoors so that the waste heat will act like a drying kiln for the "to burn" wood.

So much for a way to dispose of your willow chunks
