So Rayco Ron paid me a little visit today and he brought with him a brand new shiny 1635 super jr. We went and ground a few stumps around the corner from a job I did last week and I must say that this little machine is awesome! The swing out controls are a very nice touch and the hydraulic steering is the cats azz! The 1 inch thick cutter wheel is super smooth and the 35 horse engine did pretty good even in some deep mud. This machine is very capable of doing large stumps efficiently.

Sold! I'm buying it but I didn't want to stretch my self too thin being we're still in the slow season so I'm going to finance half of it. Ron said Rayco would only give me about 2500$ for my trade in so I'm selling the super junior outright. I've seen these same machines go for 6 - 7k in worse shape then mine so I'm asking 5k. Duelly tires and trailer NOT included. I do have an old landscape trailer available for another 175$. The 1625 has a brand new axle, axle carrier bearings, drive chain, teeth, paint and decals and the fluids and filters are changed.

Pics can be seen here http://www.arboristsite.com/commercial-tree-care-climbing/194489.htm
I'm also going to place it in the classified section of the forum and it will be up on Rayco"s website within a day or two as well.

I wonder if it is the same machine I was talking to Mike (rayco reginal manager) about tonight. They had one at the shade tree symposium. I like bandits idea of having a hydrolic driven wheel so the engine stays level.

They are a nice machine, I was looking at it at the TCIA expo. You should be able to get what you are asking for yours, especially with the new paint!

It's the 1635 super jr-s. Think the S stands for swing out control, the package also includes the swing out chip retainers. A little more $ then the standard 1635 but well worth it, the swing out control panel puts you in perfect view. Also has a 2 speed travel, had to practically jog to keep up with this thing lol. It's everything a 1625 is lacking.

Not familiar with the bandit grinders but they've been out for a while now. Don't know anyone that runs one though

should be a good starter grinder for someone. Won't find a comparable machine this clean at this asking price

My boss and I were standing there at the bandit machine like yep wish he didnt just buy that rayco not that the rayco isnt a nice machine but we really like the hydro head.

its got the 1 piece Rayco super teeth.

Are you going to continue to run the rayco teeth or switch to something else? I just bought the same machine - except don't have the swing out controls - and definitely going to switch over to yellowjacket or greenteeth - just a personal preference. I have a whole bunch of deep dish red 1100 greenteeth sitting around from a 2004 vermeer 252 I recently sold. At the time I bought my 252, the 1100 was the recommended tooth. Now they recommend 700 or 900 for a 25-35hp machine. I'm just curious if you're contemplating switching and, in case anyone else is running a 35hp machine, wondering what teeth they are running and how they're working out? I'd really like to put the 1100s on my rayco but I suppose I could also just sell those teeth and put on the recommended size.

I haven't really thought about using after market teeth. When I demoed the new machine it performed great with the superteeth, I'll probably stick with those at least for now. I like having a tooth just one piece as opposed to two. Haven't used 2 piece teeth since I ran vermeers. Might look into it one of these days though, I hear good things about the sandvik set up
