I am looking for a cheap groundsaw that I can limb and buck small logs with. I was thinking of a Husky 340, 345, or 350. Which saw would you pick out of the line up? I ran a 340 and was real impressed with its torque for a small saw.

My boss has all his trucks equipped with ms 200s, and a mix of 365s and 372xps, and 288s. As I tell him, if it doesn't say XP, it shouldn't be on the truck. Pony up the extra dough and get an xp saw. Also, why get a little saw to buck with, get a 372 or something else with balls. A little more wieght, a lot more power. Time=money. Get something used that is good. Just my opinion.

Of those you named I'd go 350. I think that out of the Husky line-up I'd really prefer a 346, 353, or 359. Oh, did I mention the 346? ;)

It sucks that the search function is broken here.

Yup. A real bummer.

MB, When did the search function break?
Oh, oh wait, I get it.

I have a 340 and really like it. 95vp rocks on the 16" bar.
If I had to do it again for a small saw, I would pony up the few extra bills for the 350. I also have a 141 and the 340 is a much better saw. (Swede)
Good luck.

im going with stumper. get the 346xp. it ll cost more but its lighter . cuts strong. an is an investment as they are high value used.its your back and body but this saw will make the day easier. this assuming u use it regularly. heck get it modified later and u wont believe the power this lite wt saw can have. my other choice would be the 026.modded in my case. man anything to make the day easier . this from an 58 yr old man. good luck.
ps dave neiger modified two i know of,, that amazed me.
