We are filling a few more team member positions for work in New Orleans. A contract that is a minimum of 6 months to a year. The contract is for residential Live Oak and Water Oak removals. Cut it down and haul it away. Pay scale will be high and rewarding to our staff. I am planning to send down a couple of crews to fulfill this contract. I am sending a couple of arborists from our home office to run the teams. If you are interested please give me a call so we can discuss the contract. I am willing to send you a copy of our contract so that you know exactly what it intails and know that this isn't a wild goose chase for storm work. I spent two months down at Katrina and seen my share of goose chases. I am not willing to send my staff and equipment all the way down to the gulf for a goose chase. I am going to be flying down to finalize all the arangements and we plan to head south within a few weeks to start this project. Give me a call if you are interested 563-927-4243 (office) 563-920-4794 (cell)

Jefferson Parish tree work New Orleans

No.... The contract takes place in Jefferson Parish. I flew down to New Orleans on tuesday with one of my staff and Tree Junkie from Kansas City. We assessed the work load, the amount of red tape, the organization of the general contractor, as well as the dump sites, travel, housing availability etc. Our findings weren't all that possitive. Tipical gov't contract red tape and even a little more but doable. However contractors are sitting around at there meeting site waiting for general contractor empolyees to get to them to give them their addresses so that they can go begin. Some claimed that they have days where they wait for as much as 3 to 4 hours. That hurts. We also found that every day you are presented with a list of 15 addresses which includes hand drawn maps of the property with a description of what is to be complete. All of these jobs if they were anywhere else but New Orleans the homeowner would be responsible for the expense. But on almost every contractors packet we looked at there was 13 addresses with only hanger removals that may only be 2 inch diameter and 3 feet long so you set your ropes climb up remove one little limb and when you are paid by yardage you basically did all that for say $10 with all you crew watching one guy work. Then the other two may be a removal or they may be a stump extraction. The money would really have to go up drastically to make it worth while. We were told that the contractors where doing 60-80 yards for average crews and above average crews with the right equipment were doing 100-120 yards a day. We found in talking with several contractors of all abilities that the average daily yardage was 20-40 yards a day. Pretty hard to make any money with only 20-40 yards average. Now don't get me wrong there were days where they may have more than that but we kept track of all the yardage that we were told about and that was the range. So if you are looking for a contract down in Jefferson Parish I would recommend waiting for the price to increase. It has went up 3 times in the last month and they have around 40-50 contractors working the area and they wanted 150. Not to mention it took them around 50 days to complete one area of like 20. Add that up there is no way they will make the deadline of August. It could be a great contract and the fact that you don't have to wait in line at the dump sites make it attractive. But unfortunately the organization isn't quite up to snuff yet so hopefully they can get things ironed out so there isn't so much down time and get the money up there were it needs to be and then it would be worth doing.
