Here are a couple of photos from last weekend...

This is the sign for some cabins that are for rent just a 1/4 mile down the road from our place. I didn't ask how much they are but the web site and phone number are on the sign if anyone is interested. Also, there are some cabins for rent (not fancy) by the park service right there also (much, much cheaper).

Of course there is camping space on our place.

Then here is a pic of some of the river action last weekend...

Bump

2 weeks from Saturday, boys!....what kind of food arrangements are we going to make? I'll be more than glad to bring stuff already made or to cook.

From my end I'm planning on having basic easy to prepare pot of hot dogs (with fixn's) , baked beans and some cool drinks. As mentioned in another GTG thread it is best if this GTG is kept "dry" until after all sawing is done. With dangerous equipment and long drives it'll be safer that way.

Also, who's bringing what saws?

Looking forward to this. I'll be at the place this weekend getting my saws cleaned and making sure they are running. I'll have the ones below at the scene. Hopefully I'll have time to fell and stage some of the trees I've picked for the event.

Saws: Pioneer RA, 036.

Got a grill, Carl?...can bring some burgers, chips, buns, etc.
I'm still up for coming up on Friday to help if you need it.

Sounds good...We've got a couple grills plus a smoker and a fair amount of downed apple wood & hickory for smoking.

Got you down for Friday see you then.

I'll post a list later this week of those who have said they'll be there.

I'll be there on Friday!

Anybody else want to attend let me know but you are not sure you are welcome to show-up at the last minute. Got other questions I'll try to answer them?

Early arrivals are welcome on Friday and stay overs until Sunday are also welcome. From MtFallsMikey:

Yeah I didn't know what he was asking but that is way out of range for the area. I guess that's why he doesn't have much business when I drive past. Camping on my place is free and it is grassy and there are quite a few flat sites.

There is good fishing but you need a WV or Maryland license.

PM sent!

Wow, really - only 15!?? :buttkick: C'mon guys - surely more members are close enough to come to this GTG!!

Ryan (Freyboy23) and I are planning on coming, as long as nothing goes down between now and then, to prevent us from making it! We'll bring all our saws, as long as we have room!! We might be piling everything into Ryan's Jetta, to make the trip as cheap as possible.... tho I'm hoping to be able to afford to bring my truck down!!

Here's my tentative list.

Mall GP
Homie Original EZ #1 and #2
Sears gear drive
Homie 1050
Mac SP125C
Husky 268
Stihl 361
Maybe a couple others.

Also bringing vac pump, pressure pump, tach. Will need some rubber to seal off the intake and exhaust.

Carl - you need any $$ in advance for food, etc.?

Sounds fantastic. Can't wait to see some of those biggies in wood. Also love to learn to vac and pressure test. I'll find some rubber somewhere. I used to have lots I'll just have to remember where I put it. :dizzy:

Don't need $$ I'm just planning on having some basic picnic foods there to keep people from starving (if they'll stop cutting, tuning, racing :greenchainsaw: etc long enough to eat). Hot dogs, good baked beans and some cold tea real close to the cutting area so no time wasted at the chuck wagon. Anybody who wants to bring something else is surely welcome to and I'm sure it would be appreciated. I a couple of BBQs so if something needs to be cooked or warmed that's okay.
