Hey 7oaks you care if a newbie and two of his buddies come down? I got a 288xp lite and two poulan 361s, my buddy has a new 660 magnum and my other buddy has an alaskan mini mill. If I can definitely get off work we will shoot to be there friday night some time if thats good?

Sounds fantastic. Can't wait to see some of those biggies in wood. Also love to learn to vac and pressure test. I'll find some rubber somewhere. I used to have lots I'll just have to remember where I put it. :dizzy:

I don't know how to do the tests, I just have the tools. I'm sure we'll figure it out.

I got the Homelites covered

While I plan on bringing some big old Homelites, such as:

2100
2100 Hot Saw
2000
8800
750
955VI

Also, a husky 385XP KD and Stihl 090.

Anyone opposed to deer meat as i can bring some to make into burgers?? Just got my lombard back together! Im ready...it cant get here fast enough. Anyone scrape me up a 660 crank to bring me yet??

I'm bringing burgers (good butcher-shop quality ground chuck, no ultra-lean crap), and if the Missus is feelin' good, som of her kick a$$ cole slaw/tater salad....no one will starve, i'm sure...

Hey Mike
How far away from us is this GTG ?

Hi RidgeR...

Absolutely welcome! Bring food you want to share. Sounds like we are going to have some real interesting chow as well as saws. We're kinda keeping it dry until after the sawing is done - I think everyone understands why. I'll probably have a cold one after it is all done.

I'll be interested in comparing my 285CD to the 2100. I've considered converting it to a 2100 but really don't need any more big saws and it runs great right now and was given to me by one of my best friends just before he passed over to mountain top to the valley beyond.

I think he was talking a Homie 2100, not the Husky version.

I wish I was closer to make it.

Love venison. We can try smoking some of it on Friday...

I'm posting so many replies tonite because I was out to the place this weekend and spotting some trees that are kinda big and need felling :greenchainsaw:

Hey Mike
How far away from us is this GTG ?

About 130 mi. from you, 100 from me...2 hr. drive from Mt. Falls. Was going up Friday, but...if you want to ride with me, we can go early Sat. am. Taking the old Cutlass up....

BTW, you going to be around this coming Sat. am?...pm me.

I just did my first one last week. It's not too hard. My method required me to use the impulse line for pressure/vac because I don't have an adapter. I'll bring my kit to test to if I can make it. I'd like someone to check my tuning. If someone had a tach, I'd like to check my saws and see a tuning with one.

My mom is coming down to our place for the weekend and it is fathers day. I have to see how upset she would be if I were gone playin' with chainsaws on Saturday.

I think she would understand....If no one else can bring a tach, I may be able to borrow one from a friend.

I've got a brand new tach. Haven't used/tested it yet but it'll be there to use. It goes to 20,000 if I remember corrrectly...

Mikey, 7oaks and others,

I'm in.

Momma said she won't be upset with me being gone for the day. She is taking my oldest out for a late 10th bday lunch and will be busy with him all day.

I'll brink by climbing kit in case anything needs to be done, people want to see, and to get some critique too.

I have an small refrigerator sized electric smoker I could bring. I am pretty sure it would fit in the car. Let me know if you would like this to come out.

If I had time I could have smoked some baby back ribs but I don't think I will be able to.

I'll have to leave Saturday as my wife is working on Sunday. If I have enough energy, I'll head up on Friday after work, otherwise, I'll be there Saturday AM. If I get there Friday night, I'll just pitch a tent if that is still okay with you 7oaks. Can you PM me the route you take? Google maps shows a 3'15" drive going out 50 to Keyser.

That's not far, I just drove about 6 hrs. round trip to pick up some Crawlers.

I have a tach I can bring.

I'll be home all Saturday.

Might also bring a big Homie 1130G to run.
