Might take ya' up on th ride offer.
That's not far, I just drove about 6 hrs. round trip to pick up some Crawlers.

I have a tach I can bring.

I'll be home all Saturday.

Might also bring a big Homie 1130G to run.

Hope we can get the Homie and my RA and coolers in da trunk! I'll be up this Friday afternoon to look at the new porch on the Missus' house, spend the night at Columbia Furnace, come by around 9:00 am Saturday if it's ok. Then I'm going to hit the tractor show at the fairgrounds for a bit.

Mikey, 7oaks and others,

I'm in.

Momma said she won't be upset with me being gone for the day. She is taking my oldest out for a late 10th bday lunch and will be busy with him all day.

I'll brink by climbing kit in case anything needs to be done, people want to see, and to get some critique too.

I have an small refrigerator sized electric smoker I could bring. I am pretty sure it would fit in the car. Let me know if you would like this to come out.

If I had time I could have smoked some baby back ribs but I don't think I will be able to.

I'll have to leave Saturday as my wife is working on Sunday. If I have enough energy, I'll head up on Friday after work, otherwise, I'll be there Saturday AM. If I get there Friday night, I'll just pitch a tent if that is still okay with you 7oaks. Can you PM me the route you take? Google maps shows a 3'15" drive going out 50 to Keyser.

Great to hear that my neighbor can make it.

3'15' is way off. It's just 15 to 20 minutes depending on how fast/slow you want to drive on a twisty/turny/narrow mountain road. I'll pm you specific directions when I get home this evening - and anyone else who wants specific written directions send my a pm..

Tent pitching is still okay. Should have plenty of nice level grassy spots.

Smoker would be great if not too difficult. I've got a small charcoal smoker there that I haven't had running in years so don't know what condition it is in. I also have some apple wood down and if I remember will have it soaking Friday.

Again - anyone who wants written directions please PM me.

If you have a little bench to set up on, I can bring my NT grinder too. It has diamond wheels on it that I am sure I won't go through anytime soon (1/4" and 3/8"). They are not the super nice segmented ones but the solid Foley-Belsaw ones. No trouble to throw it in the car too. Plus wearing out the grinder will justify a Speed Sharp or Oregon to the wife.

Thanks for sending the directions when you get a chance.

Any restrictions/do's and don'ts for coming in Friday evening/night?

Not sure if anyone would be interested but i could bring my little zenoah powered Radio Control john deere pull tractor and sled and put on a little show....if so i'll have to finish some tig welding on the sled this week.

Wish I could make this shindig but I have a grad party to attend and relatives from all over the U.S. coming into the Burgh that weekend.

Just a tip for the Pa. guys. Bring a little extra dough if your gonna be on the Pa. Turnpike. Its now $8.75 from Alleghenny Valley to Breezewood. Talk about highway robbery.

Yeah man talk about rendell and his philly gangsters getting the better of all of us in pa. What we need is a guy or gal from good ole western pa in the governor's mansion to get things straigtened out. I have boycotted the turnpike all together and if i get off work to go down im taking 119S down to route 40 and down 68 in maryland to get there. The tolls are :censored: outrageous!!!!

Here's another one; the Dulles Greenway, here in Va. $3.90 off peak, distance 15 miles.

I've used 28 to 66 on occasion, but it is 15 mi. further than me....no direct path to Mt. Falls!

I think the toll during peak hours on the Greenway is $4.90

Map

I've tried a couple methods to get a map link and most have not worked so I'm trying this method to upload a printable map from Google Maps.

It shows two of the ways to get to my place- from Keyser, WV which is directly south of Cumberland, Md and Elk Garden, WV which is just east of Kitzmiller, MD. You'll also note HWY 50 at the bottom of the map with Romney, WV just off the map. All the roads marked in pink are paved and as I said before anyone who wants/needs specific written directions should PM me and I'll send them (I recommend getting the written directions so you don't get lost and waste valuable time).

I'm getting pretty excited and hope all who have said they'll be there can make it. It'll be a great time for all I'm sure.

Let's see if it works this time...

Carl; Question from the Missus, which I already answered, and you can verify. No, or little cell phone coverage up there in the high country, correct?

I may ride up to Cumberland this Sunday...Heritage Days fest.

Spotty phone coverage and also dependant upon which phone you have. Up at the house my phone works but my wife's doesn't. On the roads in it is again spotty...

I tried making a map on google maps, let me see if I can link to it

The website is:
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U...r=keyser&daddr=Barnum&geocode=;FYjHWQIdiN1I-w

Barnum via Keyser or Elk Garden

On the map, in the left pane, there are links to directions. You can click on the entries that say "Directions to Barnum" and they will pop up on the map. If you click on the markers (7Oaks, Keyser or Elk Garden) you can select "Get Directions" and it will append your needed routes in. In Google Maps, if you do not like the route, you can place the little hand over the route and a dot will appear. When that dot appears, you can click and drag the route to a desired road you would rather take. The route will optimize with the new waypoint. If you right click the waypoint you just made, you can delete it. You can also grab the waypoint and reposition.
