I saw some hacks hacking away at a hickory tree (among others that they brutalized) today at a cemetary. They even knocked over a tombstone! At least they put it back. They left stubs on just about every branch that they cut, and flush cut one. I went to the cemetary to visit an old friend, but ended up walking around and inspecting their work instead (while they were still working). I didn't say anything to the guy, but I've seen him around. His yellow page add reads "over 26 years experience". I guess some of the old timers just get set in their ways. No offense old timers.

Pics would be great, but alas the camera is a tool that i just don't have right now. One of those things that I can't afford, but can't afford not to have. I do borrow one from a friend, but I occasionally have to give it back. Picks will be forthcoming. As for the scan, well I don't have a scanner. I'll have to send a pic of that too.

I've seen digicams for about $80.

Pages can be digitized with a cmera, no need to scan.

My camera is only worth about $20 or so, if even that, considering how crappy the image quality is. If I had the choice, I'd take a 6megapixel camera with some of those really fancy gadgets on it. (I know squat about cameras)

got my digi for about $280 CDN, should be able to find something decent for $200 or so south of the 49th ? its an olympus 560, 3.2 megapix, seems to do the job. my next camera is gonna be a nicer unit like Butch's, when I get some bucks in the bank and my old one tanks.

I paid around $100 for mine, and the quality is fine for the web. I really think it depends on the camera.

Texas,
id you take the time to talk with the administrator of the cemetary? You could get hold of some of the ISA literature to illustrate what proper tree care looks like. This would remove you from any implication of being Mr. Know-Almost-All. Maybe copies of some of Shigo's writings which can be found on the web with pictures of decay from stub cuts too.
