My stepson who (attended the Central OH Spring gtg with me) drove the backhoe back to the site to help me load up whats left.
I started cutting with my 066 and a few cuts in I saw some sparks coming from the bar so I stopped to look it over. (Sorry no pics) I found I had lost a bar nut and the bar and chain were really loose. Checked it further to see my chain adjuster stud (that presses against the bar) had popped out of the adjuster and let it all go loose on me.
All the cutting Ive ever done I have never lost a bar nut, nor has this ever happened. I recovered the little stud and it appears to have been pressed in? It didnt look broke off as there is still a tiny hole for the stud to pop back in. Tried putting it back in and tapping it tight but it loosened again so that was the end of todays fun.
Any suggestions as to brazing the stud back in or should i just replace the sliding adjuster/stud part? Hate to go all week without finishing up my cutting plans.
Here are a few pics from today. The wood is decayed on the outside but solid as a rock an inch in. the rounds were about 36 plus inches across so they should yield some good firewood.
