I've been using Yale XTC FIRE for about 2 years and like it. It's not the best rope but for the money it gets the job done. It's not the lightest or the most heavy 16 strand out there. I would consider that rope an economical choice for a 16 strand. I prefer the high visibility of the FIRE, it's one of the brightest ropes made. Just picked up some Tachyon but haven't climbed on it yet.

It's not bad, does the job. Seems to let the knot slide ever so slightly after a lot of use. Even after the knot has been set and dressed.

I use the XTC Fire. Good stuff. A little on the heavy side to me. I've never noticed knots slipping before, but i don't climb that much either.

I've been on XTC plus and Fire for 6 years...I have to have everything imported and pay shipping and duty so price is a concern for me.

All my knots hold well, XTC is tough, wears well. As for friction cord, I found bee line grips too much, and I only weigh 118lbs, ice tail works great in a VT with a hitchclimber. Blakes hitch worked well too, but I've moved on from there! It can get a bit heavy over 70'...but as that is usually a takedown, you know its only heavy for a short while! I have no complaints otherwise. Good rope, good price, wears well.

I had an opportunity to climb on Tachyon once when I was in the US...very nice!

im climbing on XTC fire right now, not a bad line a bit slick for a while but very smooth with a beeline or tenex e2e some say its heavy but im 150 doesnt really bother me,seems to be very tough mine as seen plenty of use and is still looking very good, holds and ties knots fine, strong and at its price id say is a darn good climbing line, i also used it tail tied to see how it would perform with a blakes and it was fine like that also
