Check your carburator jet screws,

sounds to me like your jet adjustments moved. Have you checked them yet? Or turn up your idle and go from there. I have a 670 champ and the springs on the carb adjustment screws may be old because mine seem to move more than they should while running the saw but otherwise works fine. Hope this is helpful and let me know what you find.

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue for sure. Check the tank vent and fuel line. Have you been running Ethanol fuel in the saw?

Might be time for a $15.00 carb kit as well.

Start with one thing and move forward. . . You'll eventually diagnose the problem through process of elimination.

fuel

Id check crankcase pressure. if a seal is worn or tore your running lean and choke would make it run for a while. crankcase pressure is what pumps fuel. mark
