I'm going to head out in the morning for Detroit(Sterling Heights) I have to pick up a car and tow it back. I'll be leaving from St. Louis about 5am. I'm going to stay over night either there or on te way back somewhere. If anyone is somewhere around there close and knows of a really good place to eat I'd like to hear about it. Or if anyone wants to meet for for a couple beers that would work also.

i'm leaving for there tonight myself.

My mother's is the best place to eat in Michigan but there are a lot of great places to eat there.if you stay away from the chain eateries, you should do fine.do a search, something should come up.i'm headed to north Oakland county so i'm more familiar with that area.if you get up by Davidson, try Whitey's.the bars in the Detroit area usually have great food and great local bands.metro Detroit (southeast Michigan)has the best bar bands hands down.

if i get a deer at my folks place, you're welcome to come up for venison.

I was Just up there the other weekend to pick up a chipper. I was on 75 North for a little bit and then 475 N and 23N. I think there are a couple hotels on 75 but it depends on what route your taking. P.S. The roads are something to get used to, but maybe it's just me.

the roads?

design or condition? the layout and design i admire and miss now that i'm not there anymore.the condition, that is a whole nother story.

Watch out for the fog guys. Fog and light rain last night and today. Last night was traveling from Lapeer back to Big Rapids and took just over 4.5 hours. 50 was the max I felt safe at on the highway due to fog.

Yeah, the condition is what i was referring to. It was so bad in one stretch of road that i thought i had a trailer tire blow out it was hopping and shaking so bad. The higher speed limit is nice to.

still In Columbus Ohio right now.

leaving for Clarkston/Davisburg tonight.looks like the weather up there is headed downhill this week.

how is Lapeer these days? i was born there, grew up on Baldwin Rd. in Metamora.used to be awesome out there.haven't been in a couple years.

I made it back to St. Louis everything was fine. I was in Rochester Mi I saw something that was kind of funny. There is a hooters there. It's on the corner of Rochester and Big Beaver Rd. I thought that was kind of funny. I'll try and post the pic when my friend sends it to me.

do you mean Big Beaver Rd..............

at exit 69? there is a Hooter's there? excellent!

I-75 Big Beaver Road: Exit 69

That's the best exit sign in the United States: I-75 Exit 69 to Big Beaver Road.

I swear, some Michigan transportation planner must have come up with that one on purpose. This stuff doesn't just happen. I keep a picture of that sign in a scrapbook from back in my MI days.
