I'll be in Louisville, CO next week if anyone wants to hook up for some chow. Getting in on Monday night and leaving for northern CA on the night of Friday, the 28th.

The air-knife is coming with, because Fred is interested in seeing how it works.

We may arrange a splicing class with Nick Araya if anyone is interested. Bring your own 16 strand, I have a spool Tenex.

I'll have a bunch of BK T-shirts along too.

Looks like 50's thoughout the weekend, so most of the snow should dry up (hope some of it goes into the resivoirs)

Colorado Snow

Yeah, we got a little snow. 68 inches at Eldora Mt. in about 40 hours, Tues and Wed. (86" at Rollinsville). Me and son Sam were stuck there for two nights, sleeping on the lodge floor, while they waited for a helicopter to bomb the avalanche chutes along the access road. About 20 slides clogged the access road, and they didn't want the plows getting buried alongside the unfortunates who got caught in the early slides.

We got out today, after the helicopters (1 news, 1 Dept of Trans., and 1 army reserve Blackhawk) landed 6 times with resupply items and fresh workers. The funniest moment for me came when the staff of the mountain ushered the couple who were the biggest whiners among the 250 or so stranded guests onto the blackhawk after it was unloaded: They thought they were getting special treatment, getting to leave first, and all; I overheard staff members giving a quite cheer as they got on board.

Our intrepid travellers have headed West, into another snowstorm, having spent a week cleaning up after the last one here. Nick ("lovey") also taught a splicing class, which was very worthwhile. There may have been a bottle of JW Red present. ;)

JPS has his camera, and promises to post pics of the redwood project.
