I dont know if anyone can help me here, but I have a question. I thought I have read somewhere that the buildup on the inside of a wood stove, or in my case a wood furnace can greatly affect the heat transfer. I removed a 1/8th inch layer of soot, and cresote buildup from 20 years, and wondered how much would it stop the heat transfer? Since a firebox in a wood furnace is one big heat exchanger.
