Hi All!

I bought a Heatmor 200CSS roughly 3 years ago and have been using regular ole black stove pipe for the chimney (replacing every year of course due to rust). I know this isn't the most economical or anything so I was wondering what all you used on your units? I called the dealer (whom I absolutely hate and is totally useless) and they said it would be $110-150 for a chimney for the unit and he would have to order it . There has to be a cheaper way out there that would take less time too! Any help is truly appreciated! Thanks!

P.S.
I'm a total newbie on this issue and my husband, while I love him dearly, is definitely not the handy man type so he's as clueless as I am in this area.

How much have you spent replacing the existing chimney so far? I am assuming you just need 1 section, probably a 4 footer or so..... Unless its near something tall....

$150 to never have to replace it again seems reasonable. I spent that on 1 2' section and 1 adjustable section of single wall pipe coming off the woodstove. The class A for above the roof was $2000.

Mine is a piece of 1/4" wall steel pipe from the local scrap yard. It's about 6' but I still need to ad 6' or so to it. Adding plain steel to the chimney means you have to clean it once in awhile then too. If the chimney pipe that your Dealer is suggesting is insulated pipe then I would pay him the $150 now and tell him to order the pipe. That is cheap for insulated pipe.

Do you have amish in the area? They could fabricate something out of stainless for cheap.

The 8" superpro (called supervent at lowes) will work, but the 8" x 36" is pretty expensive, i found 2 on ebay and bought them but still close to $200, and if you build it higher than 6' i would put a brace on it. If you are near a Menards they should have it relatively cheap, make sure it 8" inside diameter (about 10" outside). They sit on the top and twist in. I wanted to get the stainless insulated since they last and help the draft since they stay warmer. I would also get the 8" brush to clean it if you don't already have it.
