Glad I could be the entertainment for the evening! As embarrassing as it may be, at least my saw still works! What a relief!

" so what you mean is, just because I pulled the starter cord too far, I broke that little nylon-pulley-thing? yeah right".

Well, duh, Chris J. I put a brand new bar & chain on my Jred 670 that's been on the shelf for quite a while. Couldn't get it to put out enough oil for my liking, and also thought that the chainbrake was acting finicky intermittenly stopping the chain. Turns out the sprocket was completely ragged out, but it did run enough to put burrs on the tangs. So now I get to file off the burrs, and replace the sprocket. Thankfully an AS member caught this, and stopped me from completely ragging out my new chain & bar. Worse thing is we spent too much time messing with the saw, and he wound up having to leave & miss the steak dinner we had planned.
