Help with identifying this??

while taking apart my Makita 6421 yesterday and and removing the cylinder and piston I noticed this sitting in front of carb near the intake boot. I don’t remember seeing it when removing the other parts. It’s45EDE666-84CB-41EC-A9AB-39297918B7E4.jpeg19FA6D64-4625-4DF9-8950-54C00A36B959.jpeg the little black bushing in the pic with the decomp. I included the decomp to give you an idea of size and scale. Thanks for your help!!

I believe it just goes over part of the mechanism to keep crud out. Perhaps it holds a little bit of oil also and keeps things from rusting in there. Not really certain

I think your right. That makes sense and maybe cushions the action of that area also. But lubed and kept cleaner makes sense.
