We get a lot of those in the NH postings. Everyone wants something for free and there are plenty of Joe-The-Logger's that list on there.

Reading between the lines it reads "I'll come out and tear up your yard for nothing"

He might be a contractor with a boiler and figures that it is worth the equipment time to heat the shop.

I have a dumpster company that will drop a rolloff for most species; no charge. I;ve had a few where his driver has made three trips

That's it exactly. There couldn't be anyone else, could there?

I'm sure there are some people dumb enough to work their but off so they can sell the wood for $200/cord

Yeah when the add said bucket truck I wasn't sure what that meant. Is this the cable guy looking?

people do do some crazy stuff for firewood. Like my whole reason I got into trees. I only split about 5 to 6 cord a year for myself, I let the rest go as a way off snubbing my nose at the poor beggars who can't git thar own. I like to see em jump at it like an exploding pin'ata.

Its also possible that this is a "bait" advert. Seniors will often call in this sort of prick who promises "free" work but once its down and the yard is buried says "this isnt good for firewood, it'll cost $$$$$$ to remove or I can leave it here". These mongrel dogs often use stand over tactics and scare vulnerable people into paying for their "tree work".

There is no such thing as a free lunch.

I have removed several trees in yards for the firewood. I don't do any clean up and if the tree is close to a hazard the it becomes pay work with clean up. A person would have to have at least 10 cord before I would consider it. It worth it to me. Right now I have a firewood contract for 7 cords a month. It pays $390 a cord. To me it's worth it But I don't advertise for it.

Thats crazy here in East Texas the market is flooded with 100 to 120 dollar cords of good hard wood. If you buy more than 2 or bulk can get them for 85 or 90 a cord.

I will clear your land and push all of the brush up into a pile with my skidder for FREE in return for all of the logs. It needs to be no less than about one or two acres with pine, cedar, oak, walnut, large hickory or something that I could sell at the mill. If it is walnut I will come for any amount.
