Ken,
Steve here... Shipped out the Cedar log today so we can compare saw times, with the same wood. You should have it next Tuesday. Now remember you'll have to put it in the freezer so its the same temp as when cuttin'.
Heres the tracking number. 1z 566 03t 03 9512 4071.

Mybe i can get Zippo to send me some of that cork he and Ed have been cutting...lol
Steve

if you want i will send you some of my soft wood but remember i have been in your state at alot of shows and i know you will not like this stuff
as far as john's 8 by 8 like i said that is not from here but i would like to have a piece like that on my stand next time i cvut 8 by 8 at a show

soft wood

Ed,
Steve here... Yep your right, that stuff that John has is nice, I cut some Poplar cants like that two years ago at Seths. Fast!!!
I sent Ken a piece of the White cedar I have been cuttin on, so he can compare it to the stuff out there..
I should have white Pine for our county fair show this summer. What kind of soft wood you generally cut??
Steve

we cut aspen at most shows ,some white pine
the aspen here cuts just a bite harder than yellow popular most times , i have found some nice stuff but it is hard here to find
but what i want is it to be the same for everyone so when i do wood for shows , it is the closest that i can make it for each event
the problem here with whitepine is the knots that donot show up when turning the wood
white pine knots are alot harder than aspen knots on racing tools

Hi Steve, Ed,
John here,
I found the perfect test log. It's a bone dry barkless, spalted, knotty, curly, twisted, not so straight grained hunk of frozen applewood. Ken is putting a few more figures into another 346 for me just to keep things fair, so I have been using the 346 woodsaw he built for woodswork. And why wouldn't I?

Steve.
Whats shakin. I hear you have another 090 coming form Barky. It was 10x10 Aspen cants we where cutting, back when we talked.Seth

I Just shipped a package to Ken, too

Recently, I heard that Dennis G. was going to be visiting Ken in the near future, so I shipped Ken 1130 lb. of rocks and dirt via UPS. The tracking number is 1z 813 51q 24 8317 5378.

Hi Steve..... John here....., I too couldn't get thru to our ole buddy Ken.
What may have happened, was like when the tandem axle truck of dirt and rocks that DB sent, it kinda took out his phone service when the hoisted box rocked out on the overhead wires.
But this is no biggy, Ken will be fixing them really fast, no matter how long it takes.
Steve, I have this recorded message of a conversation with Ken that soothes me to sleep ever night. " Hi John, whats goin' on", always does it to me. Listening to Ken is a whole lot better than rocking out on a bottle of Tequilla.
The truth be known I had a bad toothe ache last night, so I had two choices, poke back a bottle of tequilla, or phone Dennis Cahoon, so I did both and I no longer have a tooth ache.
We should all be nice to Dennis and Tommy, they are wild and crazy guys. They dont give a Da!m about any trumpet playin' band, it ain't what they call rock and roll.
John

And you accuse me of arsekissing JPS? I can't recall ever seeing a more intense display of sphincter vacuum cleaning than your blatant and pathetic patronization of Beavis and Butthead over the last six months. At the expense of who? With friends like you, who needs enemies. I think you may find you have some explaining to do.

Hi Doug, I was just trying to convey to everyone the idea that, "what gets your attention, gets you".
There are to many thinned skinned individuals around here. It isn't as though we are a bunch of limp wristed tree climbers.
Discention is a good thing and I like the way trouble is stirred up.
RJS sucked us all in, but it doesn't mean he isn't a lowly tree climber wishing he had a real job or a saw that will cut.
John
