Is it broken or broke in?...I sure hope it is the latter...

Broken in, I was thinking this hickory was going to be very hard to mill 22in. wide and been sitting for a few months....Ran very strong. Finnally put the new 32in. bar and chain on the 460 with the mini-mill and it was strong as well full skip.

Thanks for the pics, Smokinj. I'm jealous on 3 counts -- the shade, the saw, and the hickory. :dizzy:

What is the hickory destined to become ?

I think its going to become shelves in the shop...Thinking 8 inch black walnut
trim, (shop drywall no trim now) hickory shelves with black walnut brakets and the frount of the shelves trim with ash.

It's not just that pic - too much bending over all round in those milling shots. :)

Nice milling pics, and I do agree....too much bending.

I lost a disc and a half in the late '80's....and it required back surgery.

Please get that log up higher, and on an angle. With it up as high as is reasonable. Sit on it or kneel....save your back.

And keep posting, great pics!!!

Rep your way as soon as I am reloaded.

Ya, but I'd rather bend over in the shade than stand up in the sun. :D

Heat kills, bending over doesn't.

These people bend over all day, yet they have fewer back problems than Americans who sit behind a desk or drive a truck.

I don't understand why these have to be mutually exclusive? Roll the log into the shade and up onto some gluts?

Sure, but there's a bit more to it than such a simple comparison. They're about 1/3rd of the body mass of Americans and they bend over every day and when they can, eat a much healthier diet. The rice planters are also not pushing while bending. If CS millars are fit and happy bending then so be it. I just don't want newbies to think this is a requirement when in most cases it's just not necessary.

lol really not that simple, to roll the log I would have had to go over logs. And my lifts are to heavy to move without the wench. Press for time starting at 3 p.m. But its all good didnt mind setting and milling in the shade.
