Hi folks,
I'm the owner-operator of Blooma Tree Experts -- we're focused on doing high-quality tree care in the Greater Seattle Area. We have a strong team, all crew leads and sales arborists are ISA-Certified, etc. This is not a gig, this is a career track position, with steady hours, no winter layoffs, etc. We've been around 18+ years and looking to grow. If you're interested in applying, please email me directly with your resume and/or description of experience to KD (at) bloomatree (dot) com.
Here's the job posting from Indeed:
We are seeking an experienced, safety-minded tree climber to join our tree crew.
Ideally you would have experience in large tree & small tree removals and tree pruning, along with fine pruning and hedge trimming. Our team specializes in ANSI-standard pruning, so knowledge of ANSI standards is a strong plug. You must also be able to spurless climb comfortably.
We're looking to find someone who will fit into our crews as a team player and are looking to advance their skillset & career. We are a growing company, so you'll have opportunities to grow as well.
Job Duties:
- Climbing for pruning, hedging, and removals (a lot of our work is pruning, so you will need to learn to become a good pruner if you're not already)
- Fine pruning smaller trees & shrubs
- Driving chip truck-chipper combos (we can train you if needed)
- Bucket truck operations
- Working closely with the rest of the team -- no divas allowed, we expect climbers to pull their weight and help with ground clean-up depending on what the job requires
- Work hand-in-hand with crew leader to make sure each job is completed successfully
- Communicating with clients on-site (the office team handles most client communication, as well as invoicing, parking reminders, etc.)
Requirements:
- 2+ years experience as a Climber in residential or commercial tree care (solely utility line clearance experience will not work)
- Ability to work collaboratively with ground crew and the office
- Ability to communicate well with a Crew Leader
- Safety-conscious climber
- Experience in tree pruning & tree removals
- Experience using chainsaws, climbing equipment, winches, and ropes
- Experience working with aerial lift devices such as bucket trucks and driving large trucks
- Experience operating chippers safely
- Willing to be trained, learn & grow your skills over time
- Valid Driver’s License
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to lead by example, be the hardest working member of the crew
Desired but not required:
- ISA certification
- Strong tree and shrub ID
- Basic maintenance on chainsaws and other equipment
Compensation:
- Ranges from $28 to $35/hour depending on experience, plus bonuses
- Additional pay available for ISA Certification potentially

- 100% company-paid medical insurance for yourself
- 401(k) with employer match
