I have a Homlite 150, and love it. It's my backup/smaller stuff saw to my Husky 385xp. The oiler went out on it, I got a new one, but can't get the case off of the saw. I took out every screw that I could see, but it still won't slide out. What am I missing? Thanks in advance, Matt.

Maybe the carb bolts?

I have a few parts saws, and my memory is a lil fuzzy on the 150 so this is a guess.

I can pull one out later and check if you like.

That's be my guess also RBW. There are 2 bolts top, 2 bolts bottom and the 2 carb bolts. That's it. The engine along with the oiler reservoir up front will slide out from the clutch side. The oil reservoir then bolts onto the engine with 4 bolts. The pump and diaphram are then visible and attached with 2 bolts to the crankcase end.

Yep, got it. You guys are awesome! Now I just need new oil lines. That seems to be the problem all along, rotten rubber. So, it'll get a new oil pump anyway. Thanks again.

Glad to hear you got it Matt. Gotta keep those Homelites going. By the way, welcome to AS!

150

I found the best way is to leave the carb on.Take the choke handle off(small flat head screw ,and will pull straight off the choke shaft),and take the mixture screws out.pull spark plug.2 screws on top and 2 on the bottom. With the mixture screws and choke handle off,the whole assembly will slide right out,,with the carb still attached.Do what ya gotta do and reverse procedure

Carl, I'm not too sure about this. I have three 150s and all are assembled the same way. There are 2 long bolts that attach the carb to the intake manifold and these bolts run from the outside housing through 2 bushings, through the carb and screw onto the intake manifold. There's a gasket between the carb and the intake and a thicker gasket between the inlet side of the carb and the inside of the housing. The bolts draw this tight and seal the carb. If these bolts aren't removed, you'll most likely break the intake if you try to force the engine out.

Major Screw up

I am very sorry for the wrong info I gave on the 150.Seems I had my head up my butt!!!!!!Please don't shoot me:bang: :bang: :bang: !!!!!!!

Don't feel bad Carl. First of all, anybody that works on their own saw is way ahead of the pack. Secondly, if that saw is Homelite, well, that's even better. As for a little mixup, if I started trying to count every mistake I've made recently, well, let me just say I'd be running out of fingers and toes pretty quickly. :)
