Heres my problem...i have a 240 and i cant figure out this problem. I have a new fuel filter, gas line, diaphragm and gasket. With the bar NOT attached it runs fine in the low and hi rpms. Whenever i put the bar/chain on...it will run to about half throttle and then just starts cuttin out. I replaced the plugs in the gas tank too. Even when im cutting it will run fine 1/4 throttle, but whenever i get to 1/2 to WOT it dogs out like crazy, and i adjusted the jets all over. Sorry if i didnt give you guys enough detail..but i am completely stumped on this..thansk

You may need to dig deeper into the carb, sounds like it may be gummed up in one of the smaller passages or the crap trap (Screen) may be clogged.

Sometimes the screen can be gummed so evenly that it looks OK, but if you take it out youll see theres gum and varnish in it.

.

alright...i couldve sworn i took that screen out and sprayed it w/carb cleaner but ill take apart the carb again and let it soak. Lets say if it wasnt the carb...could my fuel line actually be kinked and not allowing it to get the extra gas at higher RPM's? or any other problems besides the carb?

Yep, it could be a bad fuel line, its starving for fuel somewhere.

I just had my 450 acting up and cleaned out a BUNCH of **** out of the screen and such.

Runs better now.

If your carb has a Jet, remove it also and clean out the jet, seat and passage to the carb throat throughly.

Let me know if this works.
