Homelite 450 ignition Questions

I'm wondering, is the ignition coil from a Homelite 550 interchangeable with the one from a 450 chainsaw? My 450 ignition coil seems to have gone to the crapper and not come back. Anyone that knows which saws have a compatible coil please let me know, I dont like having a saw like the 450 sitting around doing nothing.

Well a quick check of the parts lists says they do not share the same part number. Part number 12669-A fits 550,650, and 750. The 360 take 12669-AS which may actually be the same. The 450 part number is 70709-A. I have all the saws 360, 450, 550,650, and 750 but I have never tried to match up the modules. It is possible the still may interchange.

Hello, If I remember correctly, the 550, 650, 750 module should work. The 450 module I think has a rev limiter. Good luck!
