Hey guys I’m working on a 925 governed carb trying to do away with the governed set up I have the governor blocked but the jet that has the hole in it I was wondering where I could find a solid jet or how have you guys blocked one …any help would be greatly appreciated guys thanks .

I have read of everything from a BB for a BB gun to a piece hole punched out of a pop can being used. You can also plug off the port that feeds the governor. I'm probably going to try the pop can method here with the 2100 I have in the shop.

Are you talking about the semi fixed main jet?

I messed around with those on 925's and found out they were not worth messing with. They are fine as is.

I never realized they were governed. Years ago, I went from a 36" bar to a 24" bar on my 925 and the damn thing revved so hard and fast the fins on the flywheel blew apart. I had to replace it and fattened it up so it blubbered on top to make sure it didn't happen again.

For some reason I’ve blocked the governor valve but my saw still won’t idle I’ll tune it to where it sounds good then it will just start Erving higher and higher like it has an air leak but if I swap carbs off another one it runs great

The semi fixed high jet is just that, it feeds fuel independent if the H screw is closed. Most will run fine with the H screw closed or just a bit opened. It really should have no effect on idle. Unless I suppose the check valve is bad and leaking

Yes it is
I always just put a disk of something (gasket material, beer can, ball of aluminum foil, etc) under the plug and cinch the plug down on it, always seemed to seal it fine. The semi fixed jet is something all together different, you should be able to solder up the hole and just work with the h needle.
If the idle issue is from extra fuel getting in from somewhere then it seems like it would also need a corresponding amount of air to go with it, otherwise it would tend to bog instead of rev.
Might want to check the throttle shaft area for wear...

I think I have it figured out lol I took a Mac carb off of a 10 10 auto and I’m gonna just take my throttle and choke ends off the messed up homelite carb and solder or braze them to the Mac ones so everything will work right
