Rebuilt the carb, tillotson HL, runs better but not great, speeds up then dies like it is leaning out then starving, still need to check fuel line for holes, but at a glance fuel line looks fine.

If it ends up being the crank seals, How hard is it, and if the case has to be split what type of glue/sealer to put it back together with?

thanks

john

I've never had to split a case to remove the seals. Hardest part is getting to the seal. Have to pull the flywheel, unscrew the clutch, maybe oiler, etc...

To remove the seals, I typically use a small screwdriver and pry it out. Stihltech sharpens a screwdriver and pokes that through the seal. My 031 was giving me all sorts of trouble the other day. Screwdriver would flex, tip broke, seal never came out. Ending up grinding down a larger screwdriver and popped the seal right out. That saw runs better than it has in years.

My Homey 360 was a piece of cake.
