I'm posting in the "hotsaws" section about learning to build and race a stock appearing saw. I would like to learn to port saws. While I understand this won't happen overnight, you have to start somewhere. I've got a homelite PS33 that runs good and is easy to work on. I'm thinking of using two identical saws to see how much better my beginner work is than stock, if at all. I would use them both to take pictures of the ports side by side, and get accurate times cutting logs. Anyway, I can't seem to find any here that are junk or at a good price. Does anyone have a junker laying around? I don't care if it needs a rebuild, I just want to use two identical saws. While I realize that this may be better posted in the want ads, I figured it would be ok here because along with my explanation I might get more input from you guys. Any little bit helps. Hopefully I will be able to have something running good by the end of the winter.

I'm not sure retoocs. I'd imagine it is. I think mine is a bit older, I can't remember what year it is. They have a 43cc saw that is almost identical as well. I will research it. I was trying to avoid spending a hundred bucks ( I'm cheap when it comes to things like this) on a saw to mess around porting, but I may have to do that. I'll look it up and see if it is the same one they sell.
