Its also because they seal the tanks up so tight.My old jonsered 910e did the same thing.
I have same model type same issue. After all the research I have done the problem lies in build up on cylinder fins fly wheel and behind flywheel clutch and between oil tank and gas tank all those gaps between need cleaning every so often. If not you will seize your piston.. pull your your flywheel and clutch and look behind it.. You will be shocked well I no I was.. I hope this helps ..I run a lot of these old homelite super xl’s. Take the recoil off and make sure all the cooling fins are clean and the air gap between crankcase and gas tank are clean and not packed with sawdust, oil, etc. in the very hot even very clean the gas will get hot in the tank. The vent may be getting stopped up in the cap also. It is the small splintered brass piece in the side of the cap. The newer plastic tank saws do better but even some of them will spray gas when hot. Still had a big recall for it not long ago.
