Hello, I just picked up a decent sxl 925 for firewood duty. I believe it is the 77cc version with thick rings.

It should clean up nice, good clean p/c I put in a new 1piece tygon fuel line, and filter put a kit in the walbro wj27 carb. going to run 8 pin rim and 20" bar

Now the problem I think I botched the carb rebuild, I reinstalled everything and got it to run for about 3 seconds, then nothing, pull the air cleaner and find a ton of fuel in the air box. I put in a new needle and set the lever flush, reinstalled the gaskets diaphragms in the same order.

Any Ideas what I did wrong? thank you

Finally got back to this project, I redid the carb and found this. think this might be the reason why it will fire and then race then die in about 5-8 seconds.
intake split from one side to the other Nice air leak here, I didn't notice it because it is under the tank.

Thank you for the advice.

I have one two but don't know much about them what different versions are there? Mine sputters on prime but she no lika run.

Have to see if it needs a carb kit or fuel lines. She has hella compression though. I want to get it running to get it out of my hair. What carb kit does it take? Let us know how it goes.

Well I got it running again, Fired right up reved up good for about 30 seconds then started losing rpm, then it died

pulled the air cleaner found the carb box full of fuel again, gave it a couple more pulls to be greeted by fuel shooting out of the 2 top holes on the carb.

This is the second k10-sdc kit I have put in this carb, thought I had the holes covered this time. Got Pi$$ed off and put the old top gasket and diaphragm back in.

And this is what we have now

Fired right up, idles, 4 stroke, 2 stroke everything. I don't know if I need some other kit for the carb because neither kit had the correct top diaphragm I would like to have one on hand incase the old one craps out.

Go on walbros website and enter the carburetor number in the search box. They seem to have a page for every carburetor with exploded parts diagram. On this page, both the repair kit and diaphragm kit are listed.

If you get fuel out of the little hole, it means you have the wrong gasket over the diaphragm. BTDT................................................................

old gasket and diaphragm installed and closest match out of the kit on the right.

Sorry bad pictures but the gasket and diaphragm are not even close.
