Picked up this old Homelite Zip chainsaw yesterday. Guy said it ran when he last used it. Has good compression and spark. Needs fuel system work. Will likely need fuel lines, filter, and carb rebuild.

It came with a 18” bar but no chain. What chain did these come with originally?

If it runs some obsolete chain can you switch out the sprocket to run 3/8” chain?

It very well could have been 7/16" pitch chain and like was previously posted will be hard to find.

There are .404 pitch sprockets out there for that saw, so it can easily be switched to .404
