Any one make their own CE type Lanyard using a pinto pulley? I used a similar one for years with just a piece of climbing line and a prussic and a key holder to advance the knot. Don't remember why I stopped, oh yeah I was using accessory cord tied off to my belt D ring, 6 mm and it would ware real fast and it started making me nervious as the cord I was using wasn't rated. But it worked great.
I love the ART Positioner but I'm not sure its worth spending that much money for. I think I can put together a CE type lanyard a lot cheaper then what their asking for them. Plus I can have several different length lanyard spliced up for me. Like to hear from any one who uses the CE lanyard system or has made their own. Thanks

PS any one know of a good 6mm rated two holed prussic?

I use the CELanyard a lot, did not make it but it would be so easy to do.

Not sure I understand, are you looking for the e2e used on the CELanyard? or the 6mm thimble loop used with and added to the CELanyard.

The 8mm e2e is available at treestuff, nice because it fits so well between the checks of the Pinto pulley.

I bought the CE lanyard and I love it. I went to it from a wire core with a rope grab. Being able to adjust it so smoothly and easily even while loaded is a big plus and I'd never go back to a grab/wire core. Mine wore out eventually, the sewn eye rope got nicks in it (as they all do) which I replaced with just a piece of rope with a knot tied in it. Then the e2e eventually got gummed up with sap so I just put another beeline eye on it with a VT. It was even better! I ditched the small lightweight cabarbiner in favor of the larger metal ones you get on wire cores. I found the aluminum one was too light to have the momentum to fling around big trunks.I also prefer the action of those metal wire core style ones. I thought the thimble would be a big plus in the system but honestly I've almost never used it so I took it off. I've found other uses for it since, which I'll post up with some video one day soon.

So basically, any bit of rope you like, any pulley you like, any carabiner you like, and whatever e2e/hitch you like. Easy and cheap. I could see myself maybe buying the ART positioner some day.
