The acid no longer highlights any aluminum on the cylinder. Now, I am in the process of hand honing the cylinder and I have one spot that I can still feel with my finger. There are no gouges and I can't snag my finger on anything, but I feel a rougher surface at the top of the cylinder. I know I should be using a ball hone, but it wasn't too badly scored, so I figured I would save the $$ and spend a 1/2 hour doing it by hand. How smooth is smooth enough to run?

I haven't honed out of the nikasil, but it just isn't quite as smooth as the rest of the cylinder. I don't want to be overly picky, but I would rather not learn a lesson by wrecking a piston. I tend to be a little over cautious when rebuilding and repairing stuff, so I just need to know what is acceptable.
