Does convection only work at certain boiler water temps? I've had issues with new stainless steel sidearm not heating my water. Side arm is extremely hot (150) but potable water is only at 100degrees. Do I need to crank my boiler temp? To

I am not sure what the problem is with your setup but mine works well and these are the differences I see right away. I run 185F, have a 60 gal water heater (not sure what size yours is) and a much larger copper sidearm as oppposed to stainless. Central Boiler has some good diagrams and notes on this. http://www.centralboiler.com/pdf/systemdiagrams.pdf

I leave the breaker off and never run out of hot water.

I had a good home made copper side arm. Worked great. Wi code says I need a double wall sidearm. Inspector made me. My temp gauge on boiler isn't working right, shows sixteen degrees difference. Cranked it up to 190 on boiler , 164 actual. Hoping the convection starts working as I raise the temp.
