Well, AS has absorbed Hotsaws and made a new resource available. However, it is pretty dead over there, averaging maybe 1 post per day. There are plenty of guys here that know a little or a lot about modifying and building saws, and would gladly answer detailed questions.

Just a suggestion here, but lets keep all the "which saw should I buy" and "this vs. that" and general wood cutting and repair questions over on the chainsaw forum. But, for all the guys that are interested in muffler mods and beyond, start reading the archives, using the search button and figuring out what you are really looking to do with your saw. Figure out the fundamentals of 2-stroke engine theory and how they work. THEN, begin using Hotsaws as your Q&A headquarters. Ask deatiled questions, one at a time, in a systematic approach. Asking "how do I make my saw fast" won't get you far.

Hope to see a little more activity on Hotsaws.

I wondered the same.....I hope the material that was posted has not been purged

I would like to request the Archives be made available if they still exist

A lot of guys deleted their stuff before they left. The archives would likely have large holes in it, even if the original threads were saved.

When I said search, I meant here on AS. Lots of stuff here - more than most realize. It is a good foundation for beginning saw mods.

Gotta vote against that idea. I'd sooner see hotsaws dumped completely and folded into the Chainsaw board as used to be the case, back in the day before all the builders and racers got banned or otherwise run off. Not looking to get the drama back, of course, but I'd just as well see everything put in the Chainsaw forum than have multiple forums to look at.

Yea I do miss the cool pics and videos of the hotsaws... I like to show my friends the videos, they love them

There are at least two other forums out there that specifically deal with modified/race chainsaws. The two "camps" that created the drama here and on hotsaws.com each have sponsored their own forums. Personal differences killed hotsaws.com. I have no opinion about who was right or wrong in what happened. There was a lot of good stuff on hotsaws that was deleted. I won't post the sites, but they aren't hard to find.
