How Best to Fall a Tree

I was just wondering if you woodsworkers could help me out.
I have no inkling whatsoever about falling timber and dont know where to start.
I thought if I went to Enumclaw Wash., for a hands on training course, I might learn something, however the instructor, one Robert Andrews, was a very poor teacher indeed, much prefering to slack off in the Barage, ( not a barn, not a garage), beveraging it up and eating lobster and telling lies.

Furthermore, I dont think the instructor took me serious when I told him I wanted to grow up to be a logger. He just replied, " Oh No, Not Another Logger!", whereupon he demonstrated the science and fine art of stump jumping.

The Andrews Falling, Skidding and Beveraging Course was very indepth and required several hours in the classroom.

Although Robert wasnt the best of instructors, he sure outdid himself in the hospitality department. Although I recieved a C- , I did get my fallers certificate, making me a full fledged logger.
