how do people set up srt in huge trees? Having never seen or tried to set a rope 150'+ up in a tree how's it done? Pretty sure my big shot wouldn't make it up that far with a heavy enough bag to make it back down. I'm thinking Redwoods where the first limb may be 150-200 feet up. Something along the lines of a archery fishing setup?

Yep, crossbow or with a potato gun type deal. I've seen both setups used (on TV). I'm pretty sure you can watch them using a crossbow to set a line in a giant Redwood on the Nat. Geo. website. Look for the Explorer show on the giant Redwoods. It's a cool show.

I've done it with my bow fishing set up," compound bow w/ fiberglass fish arrows" I didn't go as high as 150' but it worked pretty slick. The only thing with crossbows or bows is that in residential situations you can't exactly go firing arrows around the neighborhood all willy nilly.

Let me know if ya want all the dirty details.
