As above, really. I'm just wondering how long after a new member posts a thread does it take for it to be approved or otherwise by moderators? I opened a new thread on Saturday and it is still marked as "Awaiting Moderation" Thanks.

Sometimes these aren't visible in the queue. If it was missed I'm sure it wasn't intentional.

Not knowing how many Moderators there are on here and how busy they are, I was just wondering. I'm sure that my post has just been missed inadvertently as you say.

I'll just have to wait until they get to it I suppose, although this one did get public viewing immediately.

exactly! you probably forgot to hit "post reply" or "post".... lol

I have never seen any delay in anything I have ever posted?
It's a heightened security setting that Darin put into place maybe two years ago. He was having a lot of trouble with spammers and this stops them dead in their tracks. Their first thread is subject to moderation and they then vacate the premises.

To answer your question there are only a couple of mods who are active and fortunately for them the last 12 months has been pretty mundane around here.

There's a glitch in the xenforo software that only shows "posts requiring moderation" alert if you view the forum pages themselves. Therefore unless you click into the respective board i.e. Firewood, chainsaw, etc and scroll through the posts you don't see the ones requiring moderation. It's not located in the same queue as "flagged posts" where the trouble makers are easily visible.

I can see the need for spam prevention so I've no problem with the strategy. However, does that mean that a person's first post is never cleared for public viewing?

If so, no problem as long as I know. I assume I can re-post. However I don't want to break any rules by pumping my query through double posting..

Normally it's caught fairly quickly and approved. But if the forum gets busy it may end up buried on the second page.

I tagged the two active mods so this should be resolved soon.

A first time poster including a, link , as this new member did ,to an outside business is almost always subjected to moderator approval. However the moderators are not alerted to these posts requiring moderation, we have to actually stumble upon them ourselves.

I'm having the same problem too. I thought it was because my post contained pictures so I tried again, but still waiting for approval. For some reason, another one sentence follow-up post was approved. Strange that my follow-up post was approved before the first one. Any ideas?
