specifically your DDRT hitch.
i use a standard simple set up with a micro pulley attached directly in between(no swivel snap) the two ends of a VT.
My hitch is 22'', and works well. i don't have to pull far to tend the slack, and it keeps the hitch low, by my waist and out of the way when working.
but
I see that a lot of guys climb on the same set up with a hitch thats much longer. Sherrill and tree stuff (and most other sites) don't even carry anything less than 28''.
is this a case of "use what ever you are comfortable with"? thats what everyone at my previous company uses, and its what I learned on.
what are the advantages (if any) other than preference to a really long hitch?
