Does anybody know how long the husky 385 will be around? I heard it will be replaced by the 390.

No official word from Husky at this point. Both the 385 and 390 are on the 2007 price list that was sent out a month ago.

Keep in mind that the 390 might have been called the 388, (would have sounded better in my opinion), as it is an 88CC saw. I don't really get the significance of 3cc's being enough of an increase to come out with a new model, but we got 'em.

I was looking at this saw for the longest time....

Bottom line, if you can get your hands on a Dolmar 7900, you wont regret it.
Same or lower price, same HP (6.3), same bar and chains, and MUCH less weight.

Have you run one yet? Is the 390 as much smoother than the 385 as Huskies numbers indicate? (I know, I am a broken record...:))

another name

I think it would have sounded better if they called it a 388 also, but I thought it was just me. By the sounds of the replys then it sounds like it will be out another year. I'm not a husky man but this saw really impressed me! Gotta get one now!

Is there any difference between the two other than the bore? When it comes time to rebuild my 385, can I put a 390 top end on it?
