have any of you guys just completly underbid yourself where you will lose alot of money on a job no matter which way you look at it and wonder what in the hell where you thinking. well i really did it this time and for the life of me cannot figure out what i was thinking and this is gonna cost me at least a 1000.00 smackers that i do not have. Im usally right on with my bid but this time who knows what i was thinking,i did 1/3 of the job paid my help and pulled out all my stuff and am trying to figure a way out of the contract and no i cannot ask for more money due to a certain situation i got myself in. what would you guys do or have done to get out of a bad situation like this?

I'd eat it and learn. It's a bad deal but I'm pretty sure most of the people on here have done the same thing. Depends what kind of value you put on your integrity.
good luck,
Phil

I dont know about you type of work, but in mine youd have to tuff it out. I install underground utilities and you have to have a bond to go along with your bid. The bond is to pay for the job if you dont finish it. Kinda like a insurance policy for the owner/engineer. If you bonding agency has to pay somebody else to finish your job, you wont get another bond. No bond=No work, unless you find somebody to sub from.

Id say if you signed the contract then you gotta finish. You may be able to find a way out though. Good luck.

Bite the bullet and finish the job. You will lose much more money down the road by backing out from lost jobs due to a bad rap.

:agree2: Do a good job and theyll tell 1 or 2 how good you did. Do a bad job and theyll tell 10 or 20 how bad you did.
