Library of the Free
Very good insticts, excellent online book!
The price of free downloads is u$ually affordable. The book covers many topics of interest, though set to the rigors of rescue etc. Has a rope construction, knot making, strength, anchor forces and a very extensive examination of rope clibing tools, some familiar, some pretty wild; all very well thought out! about 100pg.
Thanx!
Online education to such a depth given away free is fantastic; the book is like something someone might want $30-45!
This
"Life on a Line" by Dr. David Merchant is a large download too, but broken into 3 sections. Another book that you might expect someone to be charging for, from it's proffessional presentation and info.
i think Tom sent me that years ago, and it has been updated last year. i try to catch the links and downloads as they show up; being passed back and forth for some years now. If it's Free; it just might be fer me!
Samson used to send out something just for usnow available as a free download at
Samson Arborist Rope Guide ; which is very good, lighter reading more to arborist specialty. Though i believe the higher science is in the previous books; don't miss this guide neither.
Away from rope science; and more to tree scienbce is something i believe Tom worked on :
Urban Tree Risk Management: A Community Guide to Program Design and Implementation ; lots of free info; explanations of systems etc.
680 Tree Fact Sheets in Adobe PDF Format from Univ. Fl. Library is good for a lil research. As well as the
Missiouri Forestry Conservation Library
State of New Jersey Investigation into Climber Killed Report is a short report, investigated to a depth that all such injuries should be IMLHO.
i'm sure others have more, and these books are budgetable education!
