Yep...flyspeck island Bermuda is in the track!
Hopefully it will stay far enough west for us to only get Cat. 1 winds...this one is HUGE, and we DON'T want it here!

Working flat out this week, all of a sudden those tree jobs people have been putting off have to be done now!
Spent three days at one of the hotels, reduce a casuarina over the squash court, denut all the coconuts outside the rooms and near the restaurant, cut back branches from roofs, then this afternoon took down a 60'ish skinny Norfolk Pine, my friend has a crane truck with a 50' boom, so it was an Otis Elevator job, real fun!
Tomorrow is the monster Norfolk Pine, 70' gotta be 36" DBH...crane job.
Friday is stuff around my house then kick back and enjoy the blow....wait for phone to ring afterwards...
:cheers::cheers:

Well I would bet we could fill out a waiting list of qualidied tre workers to come enjoy the Islands after the storm and help out with the tons of work your going to get. Keep your head down and good luck with the storm.

Well right now it looks like its just going to miss us. But heres hoping it turns inland a little and brings the tree care industry another good booster shot.

I know what you mean about the booster, been working ice here for 8 months now.the first 4 were pue h_ll.but fun.
had some good help here through some of it ,rope bieng one the guys.

Chains are sharp, full tank of diesel and jugs full of gas...lets see what happens. All the trees are at their peak of lushness, we had 14" rain in June, plenty in July... canopies are FULL until the leaves start to shred...

Sucky thing is I go on holiday at the end of the month...with this warning shot I bet my phone starts ringing hot next week...mind you I could use the break, but we could also use the money!!

One of this size is NOT at all fun. The cleanup after can be good for business, nice to see people helping each other, but when you are IN it, it can be :censored: scary. Our last one was a Cat 3, if I never experience one that big again I'll be fine with it.

Bermie, good luck. You know how to prepare, so hopefully everything will go your way. Keep letting us know how you're doing. I'll be thinking of you when they show those storm tracker maps on CNN. Again, best of luck!

Bermie, i live on a barrier island off the Southern N.C. coast. Your hurricane is sending us some mighty fine surf!

When he passes i should have some mighty fine paychecks.

as long as no one gets hurt, its win win. :givebeer:

the crazier the better.yeah i'm a sick bastard but i still like it.

It's sick to say but it's true, storms are good for business. I worked through hurricane Bob in 91 and made a ton of money hourly. (wasn't in business on my own then) For weeks we were busy when nothing else was going on. All I want to know is if its going to be a direect hit 48 hours before it hits.
"Hello, Vermeer? Send it. Yes, the big one"
"Hello Bobcat?. Send it."
