Nice work and great vid, when you cut off those 2 pieces on the end that were tied to each other, what did you lower off of?

Thanks...means a lot coming from you.

I had to lower the top limbs off the spar itself...no overheads to work with there. The belay rope goes over the limb/trunk right in front of me. It had an upward rake so the belay line behaved.

Yeah all cool just didn't really see it.

Also, the log was obviously well anchored back at the roots still, no worries of it falling from the slight shock load?

Now, imagine the job without a high point, that would suck but happens. I've turned up to trees where the homeowner has cut everything down except one big fat long limb over the roof. The trunk has been cut down to level with the top of the limb and then they want the rest done. :dizzy:

I also noticed all the gear seemed really good, nice slings, spliced ropes, I think you guys are pretty professional.

So what happened to the remainder of the log on the roof. You know, that point you get to where you have to cut the next block away from the house but the log could fall into the side of the house! What did you guys do here?

It was still well connected back at the rootball but very busted up...we strapped it to prevent splitting I'll have a video later of lowering the spar off the house. Once we got to where we could not cut pieces and roll them off the house anymore, we used our winch to lift the spar off the house and a tractor to both lift and pull the spar sideways so that it cleared the house enough for the winchman to lower it to the ground.

Your tree where the homeowner left the limb out over the house without an anchor above??? I guess you use the proverbial skyhook!
