A good friend bought a 141, in general he is not very happy with it. It would bog down at the slightest hint of cutting wood so I readjusted the carb and it ran better but still rather gutless considering it came with a 16" bar. Now the oiler is not working. This all has happened in less that 1 year of very sporadic use. Whats the deal on these oilers if anything? I did do a search but mostly found happy owner stories which is great, but not helpful when you might have a problem saw and looking for direction.
Thanks

Do you have the saw?

Or can atleast get your hands on it? Is the bar clean? Have to start somewhere.

Yes I have access to the saw. When he last brought it over it was just the power head. He was going to get a new chain, he said his was dull. I have sharpened his chain several times but I think his employees run it into the dirt. Now that I think about it, the oiler port or groove in the power head was clean, so I bet his bar is plugged.

You gonna find the pump under the sprocket.First you have to remove the clutch(L.H. threads ).The tube in the oil tank could be blocked or the plastic gear is stripped. You could check the oil holes on the bar if not blocked too.And dont run the saw without bar and chain, the clutch CAN unscrewed itself and hurt someone.

I agree ST they are not very good at maintenance, or proper tool technique.

Really!,,,that surprises me, I have no reason to doubt you, just that this saw is not impressive at all.

The 141 is not designed to be a powerhouse, it is a 40cc homeowners saw. Check your oil pump for a stripped plastic drive gear, and make sure that the tank filter is clean. When you re-install the pump you may want to invest in the new pick-up hose/seal assembly pt# 545 03 71-01 it is only a few bucks and will give you a much better seal on the pickup and output side of the pump.
