Hi guys my 262xp has started cutting out at the bottom end of the engine wind down and on tickover i have replaced the diaphram thinking it had got a hole in but no difference.
any ideas? i have had it in the shop but they cant find the problem i am using the same fuel and oil in my 365special and thats ok.
this saw is used for snedding up usually so lots of up and down revs then cuts out when i move along the tree.

Where are the basics at.

Carb settings in range?
Spark plug good?
Compression good?
Filter clean?
Muffler screen clean?
No air leaks?
Fuel filter good?
Fuel take breather ok?
Spark plug and ingnition wires ok?
Pulse line and fuel line good?

sorry Timbewolf i forgot to put them in
new plug
compression is fine
air filter is clean
fuel line was blown through
haven't checked the injectors (over looked that):censored: ocks
wiring is ok
6 month old fuel filter
MUFFLER SCREEN? (exhaust gasket?)
carb settings done by shop
no apparent air leaks

Ok got it sorted I took it to an old dealer i used to use years ago where i used to live his words were the "carb was way out of wack and one of the injectors needed sorting out"
guess i will be doing the extra 75 miles to go to the old dealer from now on as the first one didn't spot these.
wish i was able to do more indepth work on the saws gotta look around for a decent course me thinks.
