This saw had sat all summer ( I dont like to let 'em sit around but I did ) .
Went to start it and it didnt .
It is getting spark , but ONLY when you crank it fast with the plug removed from the head . My guess is that the coil is getting weak?
I guess my question is , should i get a good spark with only a half hearted pull on the starter rope ? Seems to me I should . Is my coil weak ?

I did disassembled the saw housing and found the coil area packed with oily saw dust. I thouroughly cleaned it . Thinking (hoping) that maybe the coil was leaking voltage to ground via the oily saw dust . No help.

I have only got this saw to "pop" one time when I squirted a little pre-mix down its throat. I tried some more but never got a pop again.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Uhhh......welll........hee hee, I went out and wanted to make sure that I was getting a wet plug . so I re-inserted the plug , gave her a hard pull and it popped! I turned the ckoke off as I usually do , gave it another pull and she came to life. Dont know what was wrong ?!?! I had cranked and cranked , pulled the plug , dried it out , cranked cranked, primed it and cranked it again and again till my arm was ready to fall off yesterday . I guess she just wasnt ready to start then. ( she was probably probably upset that I didnt give her any luvin' all summer long  )

Guys and gals , give that saw of yours a hug tonight, and some quality time during the year. Im going to make a cup of hot coco and bring it to her right now.
