I was wondering if there was any way to tell if the oil tank vent on my husky 272xp. I used it the other day and it just didnt seem to be pumping that much oil. If the vent is leaking is there a way to fix or replace them?

And I also feel dumb for asking but the adjustment screw for the oil pump should point at 4 for the highest pressure right?

Your vent is located between your 2 blade studs. The vent has to "leak" a bit to get your pump working prooerly. If your saw dont seem to oil enough, check if the plastic gear is not worn,if ok,then remove the pump and blow air in the pump after you remove the shaft holding the metal gear.Check also if the screen is still at the of the oil pick up line, sometimes he falls. And yes # 4 is the highest volume of oil adjustment.
